Rabbinical Program

The early 20th-century work of iconic rabbi  Mordecai M. Kaplan  inspired the beginnings of the Reconstructionist movement. Over the years, Reconstructionist Jews have consciously reexamined Judaism to meet the needs of our times.

As part of RRC's five- to six-year curriculum, you'll take classes in Reconstructionist Judaism and in contemporary Jewish theology, which help you to develop your own thinking on crucial issues the Jewish people face today.

Read an interview with academic dean Tamar Kamionkowski, Ph.D., about the Re-Imagining Rabbinic Education project and how it will alter training at RRC for the contemporary rabbinate.
