Carol Hausman, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and gerontologist in private practice in Washington, DC. She also is the founder and coordinator of the Washington Jewish Healing Network. She is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine and is on the faculty of the Washington School of Psychiatry, where she was formerly the co-chair of the Center for the Study of Psychotherapies for the Aging. She is currently a fellow of the Kalsman Institute for Judaism and Health; co-teaches a seminar, Shades of Gray, for rabbinical students and chaplains with Rabbi Dayle Friedman; and is on the senior faculty of the National Center for Jewish Healing. She has been the coordinator of services for the elderly at the Mount Vernon Center for Community Mental Health and has been on the faculties of Synagogue 2000, American University, George Mason University, the University of Maryland and the University of the District of Columbia.

Hausman has published articles in Educational Gerontology, The Gerontologist, Journal of Gerontological Social Work, Moment, Family Therapy Networker and Kerem, among others, and has recently written a Lifelights monograph, "Healing Estrangements in Your Family Relationships." She has given numerous workshops and presentations on the topics of aging, the Jewish healing movement, spiritual support groups and spiritual autobiography, among other topics.

Hausman is a graduate of Wellesley College and received a master's degree from George Washington University, a doctorate from the University of Maryland and a certificate from the Advanced Psychotherapy Training Program of the Washington School of Psychiatry.
