Shabbat: Making Time

Shabbat ... time out of the work week to share a meal, talk with friends, study Torah, read poetry, dream about the future, remember the past, and be in the present. Time for yourself.

Kolot brings you Making Time, a booklet of Shabbat blessings and customs. Making Time was created for you, whether you regularly celebrate Shabbat or if you would like to sample Shabbats spiritual practices.

Kolot's intention is to provide everyone at your Friday night table with an easy-to-use selection of blessings – in both feminine and masculine God language – along with a sample of customs from various Jewish kolot (voices) to enrich your experience.

Click here to download a PDF version of Making Time. E-mail us at kolot@rrc.edu if you would like us to mail you a packet of 10 booklets.

For those interested in learning how to chant or pronounce the Hebrew blessings in masculine and feminine God language, click on the respective blessings, below, to hear each as recorded by Rabbi Margot Stein (RRC '97).
