Occupying Judaism

The article explores how various Jewish community organizations are responding to the Occupy Wall Street movement.  Few Jewish organizations have publicly endorsed it. Liebling, director of RRC’s Social Justice Organizing Program, notes that Jewish people often are reluctant to speak about money because so many anti-Semitic stereotypes relate to wealth or greed.

Rabbi Sid Schwarz, ’80, Ph.D., supports the movement, but observes that “it will take more organizing know-how and savvy to make it something constructive.”
