RRC Alumni Among the “Forward 50”
The Forward recognized Levitt for her tireless work as the executive director of the JCC in Manhattan, one of the largest and most diverse Jewish community centers in the country. Last year she advocated on behalf of Park 51, a Muslim community center that opened in Lower Manhattan in September 2011.
Kleinbaum won the accolade for her distinguished work as an activist and as senior rabbi at the world’s largest GLBT congregation, Congregation Beit Simchat Torah in New York City. The congregation recently finalized the purchase of its first permanent home.
