A Note from Rabbi Dan Ehrenkrantz
As an undergraduate, I remember visiting RRC when it was located in a small building on North Broad St. in Philadelphia. The thoughtful framework of the curriculum coupled with an open intellectual environment convinced me that RRC was the right school for me. By the time I graduated from RRC I knew that my initial instincts had been correct.
My experiences as a student had surpassed my hopes and expectations. I am privileged to be one of a few hundred people who have experienced a graduate education in Judaic studies through the unique chronological curriculum of RRC.
While in rabbinical school I had imagined a career as a Hillel rabbi, serving college students. Most of my student jobs were on college and university campuses. However, when an opportunity arose to serve congregation Bnai Keshet of Montclair, NJ, I chose to gain some pulpit experience.
After being blessed with 14 years of service there, I came back to RRC. Today, I am fulfilling my dream of working in an educational community. It is my responsibility to ensure that the education I received will be improved upon, updated and passed on to others. They, in turn, will bring their learning, creativity and leadership to the Jewish community. Together, we will work to improve our world by bringing our compassion, teaching, calm presence and bold action to the ideals and people we serve.
