Rabbi Shreibman received his M.A. in Hebrew letters and title of rabbi from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and his Ph.D. in comparative Semitic literature and religion from Columbia University. He also earned a master of philosophy and a master of arts from Columbia, and a bachelor of arts degree from Dickinson College and Hebrew University.
 
He is currently an adjunct faculty member at Dominican University of California and the University of California at Davis. He served as head of school at Brandeis Hillel Day School in San Francisco and Marin, CA, from 1992 to 2005, and director of the Division of School and Community Services for the Board of Jewish Education of metropolitan Chicago from 1986 to 1992. From 1988 to 1992 he was an adjunct assistant professor of Biblical studies at Spertus College in Chicago, and from 1984 to 1986 he was a lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts at Hebrew University. At Gratz College in Philadelphia, he was an instructor of Biblical literature and comparative religions, as well as an instructor in secondary Jewish education.
 
In 2000, Shreibman received the Professional Executive of the Year Award from the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, as well as the Kohl Foundation International Prize for Exemplary Teaching in 1987.  Throughout his professional work, Shreibman has been cited for his service as an outstanding professional and educator.
