Adnan Zulfiqar received his bachelor of arts in Religion and Anthropology from Emory University and his master of liberal arts (thesis pending) in International Affairs from Georgetown University. Currently, he is a dual doctorate (J.D./Ph.D.) student at the University of Pennsylvania in the Law School and Department of Near Eastern Languages & Civilizations. Zulfiqar also sits on the editorial board of the Renaissance Islamic Journal (Pakistan), is an adjunct professor at Arcadia University, and is part of the team drafting the Maldivian Penal Code. He regularly speaks and makes presentations on the subject of Islam, including appearances on CNN and interviews on NPR and The Osgood File. His research interests include Islamic law, Qur'anic exegesis, legal theory, criminal law and issues in contemporary Islam.
