Activism at RRC

Activism at RRC occurs around many issues and in many forms. On the home front, you may join other students in actions to help preserve the environment, to aid victims of natural disasters or to raise the minimum wage in the state of Pennsylvania. Many RRC students also engage in international issues through organizations such as Rabbis for Human Rights and the American Jewish World Service.

RRC also offers an elective course, Rabbinic Leadership for Congregational-Based Community Organizing (CBCO), which is a nationwide initiative of the Jewish Funds for Justice. JFJ is a public foundation whose mission is to create a just, fair and compassionate America. The goal of CBCO is twofold: first, to give rabbis the capacity to build stronger congregations by helping them understand their communities’ most compelling needs and concerns; and second, to help rabbis engage their congregations in social change.
