Wendy is a writer, producer, and communications consultant with wide-ranging experience in issues that matter to the Jewish community. She has also had extensive involvement with organizations dedicated to social change/social justice, and the arts.
Wendy played a key role in the creation of the web site www.breastcancer.org, for which she served as founding managing editor. She was also instrumental in starting and editing a web site dedicated to documenting the humanitarian plight of Iraqis in the current Iraq war. Wendy wrote the public advocacy web site for a new PBS series on pediatric cancer, A Lion in the House (aired June, 2006).
In the broadcast documentary field, Wendy has written and/or produced a number of projects, including: Passionate Voices: American Jews and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (Writer/Producer/Director) and Daring to Resist: Three Women Face the Holocaust (Writer). Her documentary and non-fiction television work has appeared on PBS, WHYY, WYBE, The Discovery Channel, DiscoveryHealth and in film festivals across the country.
Other organizations that Wendy has worked with include: Bread and Roses Community Fund, Jewish Funds for Justice (formerly, the Shefa Fund), the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation, the Mural Arts Program of Philadelphia, the National Clearinghouse for the Defense of Battered Women and the Philadelphia Orchestra. She received a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Pennsylvania.
