Fredi Cooper, Ed.D., received her bachelor of science and doctor of education from Temple University and her master of arts in special education from Loyola College. Cooper received her master of arts in Hebrew letters and rabbinic degree from RRC. She also has received training in structural family therapy at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic and training in couples and marital therapy at the Penn Council for Relationships. She has worked in special education as director of a school for children with learning differences and has taught graduate-level courses in this area at Temple University. She also has maintained a private practice that combines family therapy and work with children who have learning issues. Since completing rabbinical training, Cooper has been associate rabbi in a Conservative congregation and has worked for the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation. She directs a program for excellence in synagogue schools at the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education.
