After graduating from RRC in 2003, Rabbi David Dunn Bauer served for seven years as rabbi of Jewish Community of Amherst in Amherst, Mass. In 2011, he became the first Jew to earn the "Certificate in Sexuality and Religion" from the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, the oldest Protestant seminary in the West. From 2013-2017 David served as Director of Social Justice Programming for Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, New York City’s LGBTQS Synagogue. A prolific writer, David’s liturgies can be found on www.ritualwell.org and his essay, “Choose Life (and Be Not a Skunk)!” was included in The Sacred Encounter: Jewish Perspectives on Sexuality, in 2014. Committed fully to the Jewish role in interfaith efforts of all kinds, he was the first rabbi to contribute a video to the "It Gets Better" project in October, 2010.
