Associate Director of Affiliate Support
Jackie Land has extensive experience in Jewish education as well as resource and program development. She is currently the Associate Director of Affiliate Support where she maintains the role of liaison to many congregations on the east coast, plans programs throughout the movement, staffs three Presidents’ Forums, a small congregational network and provides support to congregations who are looking for assistance in educational program and resource development.
Jackie previously served as the Chesapeake regional director of the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation, where she worked on programming, wrote curriculum and consulted with educators and congregations. She convened networks geared to rabbis, presidents and educators and one that addressed eight small congregations around the country. Land communicated with Chesapeake congregations through a monthly newsletter and personal contact; she also convened a regional council that met about six times a year, and she ran a yearly regional development program.
Jackie also worked for the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning in the Washington DC area, where she ran the resource center, wrote curriculum, planned and executed teacher training, planned, programmed and administered Routes, a day-long adult education program adapted from Limmud. She also planned other conferences and programs for early childhood and congregational educators. She also directed the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School in the Washington area.
Land directed education at Oseh Shalom synagogue for 22 years, and she was the founding director of the congregation’s first nursery school. More recently, she has taught seventh grade at Oseh Shalom and served on the board for Life Long Learning and membership, and she tutors b’nai mitzvah students. Land studied education at the University of Maryland.
